Guimond Lavallée’s History
Guimond Lavallée’s history is rich from both its organic growth and the quality of the people who are part of it.
René Guimond founded Guimond & Associés with two of his brothers in 1991. From the very beginning, the family business was established in two locations, one in Sorel-Tracy and the other in Saint-Lambert, which eventually moved to Brossard in 2004.
Vanessa Guimond, René’s daughter, has always had a marked entrepreneurial spirit and a strong interest in accounting. Over the years, father and daughter developed the idea to pursue a common dream, that of building a firm that reflected their family values. In 2005, Vanessa made the transition from one the Big Four and joined her father. A year later, she brought her university teammate and trusted friend, David Lavallée, on board. The Guimond Lavallée firm as we know it today stemmed from this alliance.
Combining Vanessa’s and David’s expertise and thorough knowledge of assurance with René’s extensive background in consulting, Guimond Lavallée was launched. In 2010, after seeing the number of its employees steadily grow, the company established itself in a new prime location in Brossard, and today it continues to welcome customers and employees in an environment where life is good. These advances also spread to the Sorel-Tracy office in 2012.
To fully develop the firm’s in-house skill base, Marco Parenteau and David Bédard joined the team as partners, in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Both were already Guimond Lavallée team members. Marco, recognized for his unique ability to explain things in laymen’s terms is the Sorel-Tracy office’s dedicated tax expert, and David is widely respected for his in-depth knowledge of accounting and auditing standards. Since they have always shared the same entrepreneurial and personal values as their three fellow associates, their addition to the partnership was a logical conclusion.
Guimond Lavallée’s partners share a common desire. They want to extend the firm’s internal values to their clients. Therefore, the firm’s mission is to never segregate numbers from the individual and always base their advice on clients’ true needs. The firm supports sincere work/family life balance and takes into account its employees’ human aspects.
In 2017, after identifying a recurrent need amongst clients, Guimond Lavallée established two new partnerships with two new entities, GLégal, a legal services company, and Massat Saurat + Guimond Lavallée, a group of international professional accountants.
With the addition of these new services, Guimond Lavallée now offers an even more complete solution to meet the present and future needs of entrepreneurs.
